Do you have a story and photo you would like to share
about your OPR adopted pup or dog? We're looking for some laughs, maybe some tears, how they have changed your life, how they have touched your heart. We will post your photo on our home page and story to the Your OPR Adoption Story page to share with all of our visitors. Maybe, just maybe, you'll inspire someone to share their life with a homeless dog. Please send a photo and your story to: OhioPuppyRescue@aol.com
OPR Spay/Neuter Project!
2009 was a year of great success and impact on the community through Ohio Puppy Rescue. We created the OPR Spay/Neuter Fund. This is currently a collaboration with animal agencies in Pike and Scioto Counties, as well as Shawnee Animal Hospital, to sponsor spay and neuters for those less fortunate. In order to continue our efforts in supporting our community and the pet over population, additional funding is required. We need continuous and generous donations in order to sustain our life-changing work into 2010 and future years. Please consider a donation to enable our work to continue! Donations can be made by adopting one of our wonderful rescues or directly through PayPal. If you wish to send a check, please contact us via email for a mailing address.
If you are interested in adopting one of our rescues, you need to first register at www.ohiopuppyrescue.com. Once you receive your email confirmation and password, you can then log in and apply Please be reminded that answers to most all questions can be found on our site, so look through the site prior to sending emails. OhioPuppyRescue.com is kept current, so if you're viewing this on a pet search site, we direct your attention to the rescue site noted above.

Jake is the first yellow Lab we have rescued. He is a friendly lab puppy who is long and lanky. He is a bit thin for a Lab puppy which may be part of his previous environment and part genetic. He eats like a horse though so I am sure he will be putting on weight now that he has a chance at living the Lab life. I can tell that he will be easy to train as he already stays pretty close when outside on a leash and responds to us when we call him. He is smart and sweet. He does have puppy energy especially when he first lays on you. Once he says hello he is ready to start playing. He does know how to settle down and he listens very well. Jake likes to be with you so someone able to spend a lot of time with him especially in the first 6 months to a year would be great. He is also well behaved in the car. Take him with you to ball games, the park, a long walk in the neighborhood, or a swim and he will be completely happy and healthy. Please fill out an online application if you are interested in adopting Jake and we will be in touch as we begin to find a loving home for our first yellow Lab rescue.
