                         A Note from Mei-Ling

Do you have a story and photo you would like to share about your  OPR adopted pup or dog?  We're looking for some laughs, maybe some tears, how they have changed your life, how they have touched your heart.  We will post your photo on our home page and story to the Your OPR Adoption Story page to share with all of our visitors.  Maybe, just maybe, you'll inspire someone to share their life with a homeless dog. Please send a photo and your story to: OhioPuppyRescue@aol.com

Your Donations Help Support Our Community Projects

2011 was a year of great success and impact on the community through Ohio Puppy Rescue.

*****We expanded the Ohio Puppy Rescue Spay/Neuter Fund to include partnership with Pikes Friends, Pike Co. Humane Association, Shawnee Animal Hospital, Animal Shelter Society and Noah's Ark Veterinary Hospital to provide free spay and neutering.  Our efforts have now opened up a "no questions asked" service to six Counties in Ohio for those who wish to have their dog altered.

*****We work with and financially support both Pilots N Paws and Animal Rescue Flights.  These 501(c)(3) organizations support volunteer pilots who assist with transporting rescues from all over the country.

*****We continued our educational program at the elementary school level in the Columbus area, which focus on puppy mills and the drive to spay and neuter pets.  We celebrate the education of over 3000 students.  It is our belief that the youth of our country are the ones who will bring an end to puppy mills and request a "Pay It Forward" commitment from all who attend the presentation.  This means that over 6000 people will learn that Pets Are Not Products in 2011 alone!

*****We provided financial support to Chances Angel Rescue & Education (C.A.R.E.) in North Carolina to help defer medical costs and assist in their efforts to eliminate the use of gas chambers in the Person County Shelter.

*****We donated three pet recovery oxygen mask kits to three local fire departments

In order to continue our efforts in supporting our community, the rescue community, and the pet over population, additional funding is required. We need continuous and generous donations in order to sustain our life-changing work into 2012 and future years.  Please consider a donation to enable our work to continue.  Donations can be made by adopting one of our wonderful rescues or directly by sending a gift through PayPal.  If you wish to send a check, please contact us via email for a mailing address.

Audrey Audrey
Audrey is a sweet girl who loves to be around her foster mom all the time.  She always has her tail wagging and loves to be petted. We are not looking for an adoption fee for Audrey as it's more important to get her placed in a wonderful forever home.  We will accept a donation of your choice though.  If you want a sweetheart of sweethearts, Audrey is your girl. If you're interested in this darling, please register on our website, www.ohiopuppyrescue.org.  When the email con...read more about Audrey
Isa Isa
Isa was an abandoned pup which came into our rescue.  She's a sweet little thing with a lot of love to give.  Due to her size and age, the vet has advised to wait for her spay.  This means she'll be adopted on a spay/neuter contract which will require a refundable deposit of $50.00.  Once proof of spay is received by 6 months of age, we then destroy the check.  If you're interested in this sweet thing, please register on our website, www.ohiopuppyrescue.org.  When...read more about Isa
Izzie Izzie
Izzie was turned over to OPR because the owner feared that her narrow nasal passage would cause medical bills.  Even though we tried to explain how common this is with Pekes, the owner wanted nothing to do with the sweet little girl.  Izzie is a happy little thing who loves to run after her human playmates as well as her foster playmate.  She always has that 'smile' on her face and is very content in being your lap dog and receiving your affections.  She also loves to give lo...read more about Izzie
Adoption Pending for Kiah Adoption Pending for Kiah
Kiah and her siblings lived their short lives exposed to the elements, day and night, and eating mostly noodles as their solid food.  Their Dad is a tiny Mini, barely 20# and their Mom is on the larger side at about 40#.  Right now Kiah is a little shy but we know that with love, ear scratches, and belly rubs, she will blossom in no time.  She has a fabulous coat and is a gorgeous, gorgeous Merle.  Miniature Australian Shepherds are easy going, perpetual puppies that love...read more about Adoption Pending for Kiah

Digger and his siblings lived their short lives exposed to the elements, day and night, and eating mostly noodles as their solid food.  Their Dad is a tiny Mini, barely 20# and their Mom is on the larger side at about 40#.  Digger is the observant one.  He seems to study everything going on around him before 'letting loose'.  He's a gentle boy and a wonderful love bug. Miniature Australian Shepherds are easy going, perpetual puppies that love to play. Courageous, loyal and a...read more about Adoption Pending for Digger

Joey and his siblings lived their short lives exposed to the elements, day and night, and eating mostly noodles as their solid food.  Their Dad is a tiny Mini, barely 20# and their Mom is on the larger side at about 40#.  Joey is the social one with the icy blue eyes.  He's the first to greet his siblings as well as any human who comes his way.  He LOVES his toys and seems to be the one to get the rest of the crew to play with him.  Joey will make a wonderful companion.&...read more about Joey the Mini Aussie
Adoption Pending for Sooky Adoption Pending for Sooky
Sooky and her siblings lived their short lives exposed to the elements, day and night, and eating mostly noodles as their solid food.  Their Dad is a tiny Mini, barely 20# and their Mom is on the larger side at about 40#.  Sooky is a beautiful little girl who loves to run and can quickly change her course.  Typical for the breed.  She may be small but she doesn't let her bigger siblings take advantage of her.  She is a very smart girl and has quickly picked up how to pla...read more about Adoption Pending for Sooky
Toy Poodles Needing Homes! Toy Poodles Needing Homes!
Six adorable toy poodles coming into rescue soon!  These babies are a breeder/hoarder release and are currently being kept at a Humaine Society for us until we get some room in our foster homes.  There are: 2 gray females, 1 black male, 2 gray males, and 1 white male.  The dogs are scheduled for vetting (heartworm check, rabies, alter, dental) and will be available after their recovery.  Most all are extremely social and would be a great immediate fit into their forever ...read more about Toy Poodles Needing Homes!
